Razor me this...

The simplest answer is typically the right one. At least this is what William of Occam believed and epitomized in a razor named after himself. A monk by vocation, but a rationalist by thought, Occam focused and spread the notion that when searching for an answer the simplest path is typically the right one. There is no need to overcomplicate thought processes, decisions, outcomes or any aspect of life in general. As humans, however, we tend to overthink many if not all of our actions and typically this is based on a possible consequence that may not be exactly enjoyable. But the truth of the matter is that each of our decisions can truly only be made by us and us alone, so go with your gut and for heaven’s sake be accountable for your decision and the outcome. Contrary to popular belief, my sporadic inclination is not due to any other worldly or existential introspection. It is simply the easiest and most efficient manner in which to live. Trust your instincts and follow your gut, it will rarely lead you onto the wrong path. Once you are firm in this belief you will never doubt yourself nor fear the consequence. And if it does turn out, because fate certainly has some trickery up her sleeve, that the end result is not the one intended (hoped for), Never blame yourself or doubt your decisions. It’s a worthless emotion and will only lead to self deprecation and gut wrenching worry. So follow your gut, stop it with the overthinking, if it feels right just do it and do yourself a favor...don’t overcomplicate your life by questioning your decisions after the fact.
